Causes of Furnace Noise
A noisy furnace can be caused by a number of things. A squeaky furnace could be a sign that a belt has reached the end of its usefulness or that the bearings in the motor need lubricating. A rumbling noise in your furnace can be the result of a clogged filter or dirty gas burners. If your Dallas furnace or HVAC equipment is making noise, pay attention!
Having the cause of a noisy furnace assessed by a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) professional is important. Furnace noise could be the first sign that the unit needs repaired or replaced, and an indication that it could fail at any time. Noise from a clogged filter or dirty burners could be more serious. A furnace in grave need of cleaning can be a fire hazard. In addition, a cracked heat exchanger, another possible cause of furnace noise, could allow combustion gasses to enter your living space and cause a serious health hazard.
